Video
While video is an important part of your wedding, most people do not consider it as important as your wedding photographs. Photos will likely be on display in your home, while your wedding video will likely be relegated to a shelf or drawer until you have a sentimental reason to pull it out and watch it.
Still, having a professionally produced wedding video has many advantages over having your cousin Bob shoot something with his VHS camcorder that is circa 1985. First and foremost is recording quality. A professional video is going to be of a much higher quality than something edited on a home VCR. The editing of the video will be much cleaner if it is done by a professional. There will not be any mysterious blank spaces on the tape if a pro does the editing. Also, a few videographers are starting to offer DVDs rather than VHS tapes.
